Home / About

You work with the person who builds it.

Most "AI" sold to companies your size is a template pretending to be a system — a thin layer of instructions, priced like the real thing. I build the actual system, and I sell judgment, not hype.

"The person on your first call is the person who writes the code."

PhosOps is one senior operator by design. I diagnose the problem, build the system, host and run it, and answer the phone when you have a question. No handoffs, no juniors learning on your engagement, no account manager relaying messages. That's the ceiling — a handful of clients at a time — and it's the entire point. It's why the work gets built right and stays maintained.

Background

I've built with technology my whole life.

I've worked hands-on with AI since the day it became usable — not as a trend to chase, but as a tool I've taken apart and rebuilt with every day since. That head start is the point: while most people are still arguing about what these systems can do, I've already put many into live operation — building complex systems that solve problems that used to be impossible, and making sure they hold up in the real world. That's why PhosOps exists.

What I've built

What I've shipped.

Invoice Intelligence reads thousands of vendor invoices, pulls out hundreds — sometimes thousands — of part numbers, and categorizes every line item to its real SKU, so a company can see its spend down to the smallest part. For one client it surfaced $261,664.92 in overbilling and price creep in year one, with another $317K–$421K forecast if nothing changed.

I've also built a shelf of AI tools for my own work, and — with an attorney partner — tools in the legal world, including a real-time deposition assistant, with more in development. The industry changes; the shape of the problem is what I've learned to build for.

"…such an impressive vendor spending and pricing analytics platform."

What I believe

A few things I'm certain about.

Most "AI" being sold right now can't actually improve over time — it's a few instructions bolted onto a chatbot, sold for tens of thousands. I won't hand you a glorified prompt and call it a system.

Prompting is table stakes. Modern AI understands what you mean in plain language — no magic word-combinations required. The real edge is context: give the AI deep knowledge of your business and the work around it, and the output stops being generic and starts being genuinely great.

AI doesn't replace good people — it removes their grunt work and amplifies their judgment. The human brings the context and the taste; the AI brings the leverage. That's the whole game.

Working with me

I'll tell you the truth, even when it costs me.

The trait I lead with is honesty. If you bring me a problem and there's a $60 tool that solves it, or you could do it yourself, or the labor's cheaper than the build — I'll tell you flat out, before you've paid me a dollar. I love this work, and I love teaching it: you'll leave the engagement understanding your own system, not dependent on me to touch it. What I want is for you to get an outsized return on what you paid.

The name

PhosOps means light.

"Phos" is Greek for light; "Ops" is operations. I chose it because I'm an Orthodox Christian — light points to Christ, the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6) — and it's how I keep my faith at the center of the work. The eight-pointed Byzantine star carries the same meaning.

Fit
A fit if —
  • You're a $20M+ operator with a recurring, expensive workflow
  • You'd rather it were done right than done cheap
  • You want one accountable senior builder, not a rotating team
  • You've been burned by hype and want to see it work on your data first
  • You want to own the system, not rent it
Not a fit if —
  • You're shopping for the cheapest option
  • You want a tool to log into and figure out yourself
  • You need it live next week with no diagnosis
  • You want to hand it off and never think about it again
  • The problem isn't costing you enough to matter
How you're protected
Credit-forward

The Roadmap isn't a sunk cost.

Its full fee comes off the price of your build. You pay to find the opportunity, not twice.

See it work first

Proven on your data before sign-off.

Every build ships in stages. You watch it run on your own numbers before approving the next.

You own it

The code and data are yours.

Keeping it running and improving is my job — that's the engagement. I host and secure it in its own isolated environment, and because you own the code and data, you can move it in-house whenever you want. No lock-in, no hostage retainer: you stay because it works, not because you're trapped.
